September Morning - Our second design for Needlework Expo is a special one to me. Jimmy and I are celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary this September and I designed this sampler in honor of that milestone event!
I included our wedding date and several elements from our wedding including the gorgeous delphiniums we used in our flower arrangements. Delphiniums are one of my favorite flowers and they make such an old-fashioned statement...just the look we wanted, since we're pretty old-fashioned people:)
If you look closely, you'll see a butterfly and a dragonfly from the cover of our wedding program. The wire fencing is reminiscent of mamaw's garden and I love the unevenness of it!
I stitched this on 36 count Weeks Dye Works Aspen with Weeks and Classic Colorworks flosses. I usually stitch 36 ct. with one thread, but I did this design 2 over 2, because I really wanted it to "pop."

I'm Robin, the designer behind October House. You've found my blog, where I ramble on about stitching and sewing and anything else that catches my fancy!
I love quiet colors, gentle stitches and making things by hand.
