Summer sewing

I have had the sewing bug for most of this year. Garment sewing, that is. (Do people even say that anymore...garments? Not that I really care if I sound old-fashioned. Actually, I prefer to sound old-fashioned :)

Anyway, I've been busy making lots of clothing. So far this year, I've made 3 pairs of pajama pants, 3 pajama tops, 1 skirt and top set, 1 dress, 1 pair of pants, and 5 blouses. That's pretty good for about half a year :)

I've learned to love the print-at-home patterns and how easy they are to customize so you get a good fit. It's also amazing how many options there are out there these days. A few of my favorite pattern companies lately are

I've found a few great blouse patterns that are perfect for making again and again. I talked about a couple of them in this journal post.

I'm currently working on the Thea Woven Boatneck Blouse pattern from Sinclair Patterns, which I'm pretty sure is going to go right in the rotation. I decided on this pattern after watching Karina of Lifting Pins and Needles make it on her YouTube channel.

I don't watch very much YouTube these days (too many hobbies to spend much time watching other people do their hobbies :) , but occasionally I'll see something that might work for me. And these days it's probably sewing related.

I ordered this stack of fabric a little while ago with the intention of making a couple of shirts for Jimmy with the top and bottom fabrics. The green (an oxford shirting) in the center is for me. I just haven't decided what pattern to use yet :)

I do squeeze in a little patchwork here and there, too. But it's mostly all about the clothes right now!
