I had a blast stitching this pretty little design from Sweet Wing Studio. It was so quick and pretty, I couldn't put it down!
I obviously made a couple of changes to my version. Most notably the dark blue linen. But I also changed the purple to a softer blue and warmed up the pink and red in the flowers.
My version ----------------------
Linen: 32 ct. Midnight Linen by Lakeside Linens (from the deep stash).
Trim: Mini pom pom trim - Miguel's Navy by Dames of the Needle
Threads:
I used CC Garden Gate for the words
GAST Summer Shower for "Lord"
CC Desert Mesquite is the darker green
GAST Green Apple is the lighter green
WDW Aztec Red and Hibiscus are the flowers and little diddly-boos
I wanted a pillow to lean on a shelf, so I stuffed it with polyfil and trimmed it with this perfect mini pom pom trim. I mean how close a match is that?!
It's Miguel's Navy from Dames of the Needle and I stitched it on with a navy hand quilting thread. I like using hand quilting thread for finishing and trims because it's so strong. Plus, since it's glazed it glides very smoothly with no tangling. Here's a shot of the backside, which looks as good as the front:
It's already happy at home in my re-arranged studio!
