I told myself last year that I would make Jimmy and myself new hats and mittens/mitts for next winter.
I've got a hat for me finished, and it is definitely cold enough to wear it right now! I knit this out of our Grove Worsted in a new colorway called Alice. It's a little deeper color than our Morning colorway, which I love.
I'm pretty sure this is going to be a new favorite of mine, as I'm already planning socks and sweaters in this color.
The pattern is the Clover Hat by Susan B. Anderson, and it's perfect for me. I did modify the ribbing to make it a little deeper, but other than that, I knit it as written.
That said, what I need to do is cast on for Jimmy's new hat. He's got a couple of hats he really likes, but he needs a really warm one for those super-cold days.
Do you have a favorite hat pattern?
I'm Robin, the designer behind October House. You've found my blog, where I ramble on about stitching and sewing and anything else that catches my fancy!
I love quiet colors, gentle stitches and making things by hand.
